The sixth form association election has come and gone by in a flash! The race is now over but popular Yorkist YouTuber Leopold Smith has decided to relate his overall campaign experience to the ‘Leopods’ on his YouTube channel with over one thousand followers. He shared to his YouTube channel the struggles and excitement he experienced throughout the election period. This wasn’t his first time vying for the position of Events Coordinator however he was unsuccessful in his previous attempt. Therefore, upon hearing from a good friend of his that she had nominated him, he realized that this was the opportunity that he had been waiting for. Leopold confessed that he was intimidated by his opponent, Alicia Harvey because she led the polls throughout the election period and was highlighted as the favourite amongst all nominees.
However, with last minute campaigning, Leopold was able to step up his game and was led to victory with a total of seventy-six votes. He pointed out that the main struggle he faced was balancing schoolwork and campaigning, but he persevered and was able to come out as the victor. The excitement he felt could not be compared to no other, Leopold shared that even his mom had to join the celebration.
As a true team player, he congratulated the other candidates on a job well done.
Leopold has taught us yorkists a very important lesson. “Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying 'I will try again tomorrow.”
